Our Favourite Things About Spring

Spring is upon us. Time to shake off the winter blues and get excited for warmer weather. At the hotel, we are getting excited for spring. No more shovelling snow, or putting salt out and hoping it’s enough to keep guests and employees from wiping out. No more roads closing because of snow drifts or blowing snow. No more having to plug in your vehicle so that it will start at the end of a long shift. To get you excited for spring, I reached out to the staff and asked them for their favourite things about spring. Here is what we came up with.

Thunderstorms Instead of Snow Storms.

Our assistant manager, Stephanie, loves a good thunderstorm. “Thunderstorms are the best. The rumble of thunder, beautiful flashes of lightning as nature puts on an incredible light show. And then you have the beautiful rainbows afterwards.”

NO MORE JACKETS!

Our newest employee, Felina, is excited to put away her jackets and just snuggle into a sweater as she goes out the door. “Sweater weather!” Can you tell she’s excited? It also makes getting ready to go anywhere a lot easier. Just grab a sweater and go. I don’t think any of us can complain about that.

Everything That Grows

One of our night shift staff, Elle, says she loves the lack of snow and the beginning of things that grow. “I love seeing flowers coming up out of the ground.” Elle says she loves seeing the grass turn green, and the snow disappearing and the beginning of warmer weather. Like most of us, she is not a fan of the cold.

No More Snow

This one was a common theme among our staff. It seems that everyone is excited to see the snow leave. We have a few gardeners on staff who are eager to get back into their gardens and can’t wait till then. Others are just excited to spend more time outside in the sun.

Everyone is looking forward to Spring, what about you? What’s your favourite thing about Spring? Are you looking forward to warmer weather, or do you enjoy winter? Let us know in the comments below. We would love to hear from you.
