Best Photoshoot Locations in Steinbach
Spontaneous or planned, photoshoots can be a lot of fun. But finding the perfect location can be tricky. It all depends on the season too. And then there are different kinds of photoshoots to do. Family, couples, wedding, pregnancy and baby photoshoots are the popular ones.
But, you can also just do solo, or even friendship photoshoots. Away with a sports team? Why not do a silly photoshoot? Now that you have decided to do a photoshoot, where do you go? We have compiled a list of some beautiful locations to do photoshoots at, no matter the season.
Rosenthal Nature Park
The first on our list was brought to us by one of the ladies on staff here. She loves photography and has a real eye for it as well. Rosenthal Nature Park is located in Mitchell Manitoba, on the way to Randolph. The park has walking trails that connect the wetland and upland ecosystems with wildlife observation areas. The wetlands include a lake and peninsula and is a great place to get some wildlife photography, especially water fowl during migration season. The upland is covered in wild flowers and nature lovers can see a large variety of butterflies, birds, and if you’re lucky, some deer. A local photographer even captured the northern lights while walking the trails last year.
Tourond Creek Discovery Centre
Located 2 miles west of the Kleefeld turn-off on the 52 Highway is our next location. The Tourond Creek Discovery Centre offers great photos, no matter the season. There is a small picnic area where you can eat before or after your photoshoot. A lookout stand offers a better view of the area, and a great spot for pictures as well. A wall containing beautiful murals is another great spot to take photos, or even just admire the artwork and be inspired. In the warmer season get some photos of beautiful flowers. With 5 different ecosystems you’re sure to see a variety of plants and animals. Perfect for a budding wildlife photographer.
Bush Farm Trail
Not only a great path for biking, jogging or walking the dog, it has some great spots for photos. In the fall get great photos with the colorful leaves on the wooded part of the trail behind Southland church. The loop goes around Abe’s Hill, which is another spot that is great for taking picnic themed photos. A small fitness area could provide some entertaining photos as well. Have fun with it, make it your own.
Blind Creek Trail
I know, it feels like I’m just giving trails as locations. I promise we will have some variety. This trail is just next to the Ledignham Dealership on 12 highway north. A cute, tucked away area you can get some great photos beside an adorable creek, and with some interesting trees. Great for family pictures or couple’s photos.
Woodridge Campground Woods and Tree Farms
The Sandilands area is a great place for nature enthusiasts. And the woods offer a great backdrop for photo shoots. Whether you’re snapping nature photographs, or taking pictures with family or friends, this area offers a fantastic option. And you can camp there as well with your tent, camper or rent a cabin. My friend has taken photos there and says it’s a great place to set up for a fantasy themed photoshoot. Grab your elf ears and hobbit feet, take some photos and just have a lot of fun with it.
Special Mentions
I could go on with the different locations you can use, but then this blog would never end. So, some special mentions are the old Pinewa Dam, Birds Hill Provincial Park, CD Trees wedding venue, Barkman Park, and the Whiteshell area. If you know someone with a beautiful yard, ask if you can use it for a photoshoot. There really is no limit to where you can take photos. And have fun with it. Do a photo scavenger hunt and take pictures all over town. Laugh with friends and family while you create fond memories together. And don’t forget to smile for the camera.
