It's Been 8 Years
Did you know that we have been open for 8 years now? That’s incredible for a small independent hotel in Steinbach. However, we have not really ever introduced ourselves. Who are we? What are we about? Who do we aim to cater to our hotel? And most importantly, what do we all have to offer with rooms and amenities?
I aim to tackle these questions and more in this blog, and if I miss one that you have, leave a comment at the end of this blog. We love to hear from our guests and potential guests. So, with that being said, let’s start the conversation, shall we?
A Brief History
I’ll keep this brief, because we already did a blog on the start of the hotel and how it came to be. Roadhouse 52 Inn & Suites opened March 4, 2018. The owners, Harv and Lorraine Barkman, felt called to build the hotel and things just lined up. Since then, we have tried to keep the hotel running through a pandemic and the aftermath of it. There have most certainly been ups and downs through it all as Steinbach tore down its arena and we had to wait for a new one to be built. Through those years we tried to think of some creative ways to bring in business, and to give our guests a unique experience that they can’t get at another hotel in this area. For more on this, see our earlier blog here: https://roadhouse52.ca/about/blog/where-we-came-from
Who We Want To Cater To
The short answer: everyone! Here for business, we have corporate rates. Coming with a sports team? Getting married and need a place for out of town guests? Block booking is available. Need a girls night? We got you. Anniversary? We have romantic packages for you to choose from. Maybe you’re just passing through and need a quiet place to rest your head. Whether you’re a local or from out of town, here for work, an event or anything else - we would love to have you. We welcome everyone here at Roadhouse 52 Inn & Suites and we hope that when you leave you’ve had a great experience with us.
What We Offer
We have a vast variety of rooms at our hotel. Let’s start with the rooms we have the most of. We have two different styles of standard rooms. The first is called a standard bunk room. It has 2 queen beds and 1 of those has a single bunk on top of it. The other is a standard queen, which is just 2 queen beds. Next we have kitchenette style rooms, which include a microwave convection oven, 2 burner induction hot plate, an apartment sized fridge, and some dishes. The bed set up in these rooms is like our standard bunk room. Some of these are also known as crew rooms and are perfect for construction workers in the area that have to stay for a while. Have a bigger group or family? We have rooms that can accommodate you. Pick either our family room with two queens, both with double bunks on top, or our family suites. The suites have the same beds in the main room as the family room, but also have a bonus bedroom with a queen bed in it. Have mobility problems? We have two large accessible suites for you. Have a pet, we have selective pet rooms. Now, for the main event. Our specialty rooms.
Specialty Rooms
We only have 5 of these and each is unique to itself. First up, our jacuzzi suite. This is on the main floor and has a jacuzzi tub, stand shower, and king sized bed. Next, our jacuzzi kitchenette. Like the first room, it has a jacuzzi tub and king sized bed. But instead of a stand shower in the bathroom, it has a bathtub/shower combo. And it has a little kitchenette with the same amenities as our kitchenette rooms. These two are on the main floor. Upstairs we have our Junior Executive suite and Executive suite. These rooms also come with jacuzzi tubs and king sized beds. The differences? They both have double head showers in the bathroom, an electric fireplace, and massive windows. The Executive Suite is the largest of all our jacuzzi style rooms and is often used as a honeymoon suite. Last, but certainly not least, we have our Billiard Theme Room. In this room is lots of fun memorabilia, a queen bed and a pool table! Great for a date night away while the kids have a sleep over at grandma’s.
But Wait…There’s More
We have two different event rooms that are great for meetings, birthday parties, baby/wedding showers, and more. We often have smaller churches use our space for their services, even. Guests have access to coin operated laundry, a small storefront, and freezer area. The freezers contain ice cream, store bought freezer dinners, as well as home made freezer meals - made in house. Right now our most popular freezer meal is the chili that our assistant manager, Stephanie, makes. Regular guests keep coming back for more. We have vending machines, an ice machine, and a loft area for puzzles and card games. Our games room has air hockey, foosball, and torpedo ball. Our small fitness centre contains some cardio machines and dumbbells so you don’t have to miss your workout. And then at the end of the work day you can relax in our spacious hot tub, or borrow a game from the front desk for a family game night in your room. There really is something for everything.
Local Supports Local
We have one more special piece of our hotel. It’s our locally made cabinet, which also happens to be made locally. Artisans partner with us to sell some of their items at our hotel and the cabinet is a great way to display them. Even more exciting, we host 3 markets every year; our spring market, vendor market and christmas market. And this year, we are also adding, for the first time, a local author book fair! We love supporting local businesses in our community and partnering with them in any way we can. If you’re reading this and you’re a local business owner, and maybe you’re thinking “that sounds like fun,” reach out and we’ll see what we can do. And you’re right, it could be fun.
Come Say Hi
So, that’s a bit about us and what we have to offer. Never been here? Come by and say hello. We offer tours to show you the different styles of rooms so you can see for yourselves, we are not exaggerating when we say we have spacious rooms. Book a night, come to our markets, or host your next event here. We’re happy to be here and support you as best as we are able. And if you want to partner with us in any way, we would love to sit down and chat with you about how we can do that. Come as guests, leave as friends. We’ll see you soon.
