4 Ways to Bless Others This Christmas

4 Ways to Bless Others This Christmas

Christmas Day is around the corner. Are you ready? So many gifts to buy and wrap, family gatherings, lots of food, and being surrounded by loved ones as you exchange gifts. This is what Christmas looks like for some, but not everyone. As the season comes upon us there are some who have no one to spend the holidays with. There are families who can’t afford to put food on the table or give their kids gifts. For some, it marks the anniversary of someone passing away or taking their own life. So, how can we make this Christmas special?

Food Hampers

There are many places that collect food items to make into hampers to bring to the less fortunate. Consider donating some food or if you know someone who is struggling this season, bring them your own hamper.

The More the Merrier

If you know someone who is going to be alone this Christmas, or a family in need, why not invite them over for some Christmas cheer. Share a meal, share your time, or share a gift to let them know you care.

Share the Love

Similar to the first two, find a way to help someone out this Christmas. Maybe that’s clearing the driveway of an elderly couple, baking cookies for your neighbours, giving a struggling family a gift card to help them buy some groceries or you can bless a family with some gifts. You can even make it a secret santa moment if you don’t want them to know it’s you.

Christmas Carolling

What a fun activity to do with friends, family, or your church group. Spread some joy and go out carolling. Then afterwards get together for some hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. You can bless others and have fun, if you don’t mind the cold.

These are just some ideas that you can try to make someone’s Christmas feel extra special. If you’re a family, invite the kids to participate as well. This is a great way to remind your kids that Christmas is not just about receiving gifts. You can even begin family traditions this way. Let us all remember that Christmas is not just about us and what we get, but it’s about others. Let this be the year that everyone feels loved and appreciated. And if you’re reading this and know that you’ll be spending Christmas on your own, come stay with us. We would love to have you. Merry Christmas everyone.
