Make the Most of Manitoba Winters
When most people in Manitoba think of winter they think of the snowstorms that keep kids from school and parents from work, playing guess if you’re on the road, hockey, and Christmas. Some people begin the countdown to summer with the first snowfall. Some dread the amount of money spent on Christmas presents. And there are a few who absolutely love snow and winter. Everyone is different and that’s wonderful. Did you know that Manitoba offers a variety of activities for everyone to do during the winter, and you don’t even have to leave the province. Here is just a small list of things we found to keep you busy this winter.
Kidfish Ice Derby
This one seems really awesome, so I definitely wanted to put it on the list. Some families love to go Ice Fishing in winter and here is a great opportunity to do so, and it’s actually for a good cause. Proceeds from the event go towards Children’s Hospital Foundation and Cancercare Manitoba.

Raw: Almond
Here is another interesting event. It’s a pop up restaurant that is actually on the frozen Assiniboine River. It features food from some of the best chefs of Winnipeg and North America. Go try some great food with friends and family while trying something new.
Wild Winter Canoe Race
This one just sounded too hilarious and fun, it had to make an entry. Head to the Forks and check out these silly races on the Red River Trail. What’s so silly about it? Your leg is your paddle. Don’t forget to get the camera to film and be prepared to laugh.
