Christmas Gift & Getaway Weekend 2025

We are excited to announce that we are doing our 3rd annual Christmas Gift & Getaway weekend! This event is always a blast. A weekend full of fun activities for the whole family. 

So, maybe you have never attended. Maybe you’ve never even heard about it and you’re wondering what it’s all about, and if it would be an interest to you or someone you know. Well, let me tell you all about it and let you know what you can expect at the Christmas Gift & Getaway 2025!

What is it?

So, first thing’s first. What is the Christmas Gift & Getaway? It is a weekend of Christmas themed activities that we host, mostly at the hotel. We partner with other local businesses to give you a great experience style weekend with a favourite theme; Christmas! Every year we try to make it better than the last, but with similar themes. So, this year we are doing a Christmas Sweater Tasting Event with a Cookie Decorating Workshop, a special breakfast, a Christmas Artisan Market and a Wreath Making Workshop! There might be more, but we have to leave a few surprises, right? Weekend packages including a night or two at our hotel are available. Or you can come for individual events. Let me break it down by event so that I can go into more detail. 

Christmas Sweater Tasting Event

November 21st at 7pm | Tickets Available

Every year we like to partner with locals for a tasting event where you can sample delicious goodies, get ideas for your own Christmas events, and mingle. Last year we did a fun Christmas Cookie Decorating Workshop and it was such a hit that we are doing it again! This year, the cookies are shaped as Christmas sweaters and you get to decorate your own. And to add a fun and festive spin on things, we are also doing a Christmas Sweater contest. There will be prizes awarded to the person wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater and one awarded to the one wearing the overall best Christmas sweater. It will be a blast, with delicious food. Tickets are $20 per person and only available until November 19th. And they are limited so make sure to get yours before they are gone. 

Christmas Breakfast

November 22 | Morning | Package Only

This is only available to those who are getting one of the packages. You stay at the hotel for 1 or 2 nights and the tasting event and wreath making workshops are included in the package. As well as a delicious homemade breakfast that is different from the standard hotel breakfast. And I hear that our boss is making her amazing cinnamon rolls for that breakfast. It will be delicious and everyone who doesn’t get the package will wish that they did when they see what you get to eat. This is going to be the perfect way to start the day before you get involved in the other Christmas activities.

Christmas Artisan Market

November 22 from 12pm to 5pm | Everyone Welcome

Who doesn’t love a good Christmas market? This is a 5 hour event and is free to attend. There will be 20+ artisans there with wonderful homemade items that will be great Christmas gift ideas, or a little something special for yourself. There will also be a canteen so that you can grab something to eat if you didn’t have time for lunch before you came. Don’t forget to ask the canteen worker about the delicious homemade freezer meals that are made in house available for purchase. And of course you will want to check out the silent auction prizes and get your tickets to enter. We often do some sort of tour of the hotel if you’re at all interested to see what we have available. Well, if not all the rooms are filled ;)

Christmas Wreath Making Workshop

November 22 |Throughout the day | Package Only

The last thing I want to cover is our wonderful Christmas Wreath Making Workshop. We have once again partnered with Sunshine Greenhouse. This workshop will be held at Sunshine Greenhouse. As mentioned earlier, this is only for those who get one of the packages. You sign up for a time slot at check-in and when it’s your turn, we shuttle you there in our shuttle van. The staff at Sunshine Greenhouse will take you through the steps to make your own living Christmas Wreath that you then get to take home. Our shuttle van will pick you up and bring you back to the hotel once you’re done. The guests who joined us last year had a blast with this workshop and the greenhouse staff did as well. This is included in the one night and two night packages.

Who is this for?

This is a great getaway for families, friend groups, couples, anyone! If you like Christmas, this weekend is for you. Do you like to support local? This weekend is for you. What about delicious food? Yup, this weekend is for you. Need a date idea? Guess what, this weekend is for you. Girls weekend? You guessed it. This weekend is for you. Looking for something fun to do as a family? This weekend is for you. I literally can’t think of a reason for you not to come to this weekend. Get a one night package and stay the night at our beautiful hotel in one of our spacious rooms. It’s simple. Head to our website or call us directly and book your room. Check-in, and get settled. Then at 7pm come to the breakfast room for our tasting event and cookie decorating workshop. Don’t forget to wear your best, or ugliest, Christmas sweater. After an evening of good food, fun, and laughter get a good night sleep so you can be ready for the next day. At your designated time, come to the breakfast room and be served a delicious Christmas breakfast. Do homemade cinnamon buns sound good? Can’t you smell them already?

But wait... There's More!

After breakfast, get ready for the big day. If you’re staying just one night, this is a good time to pack your stuff and bring it to your car. Then, at noon, be among the first to check out the amazing artisans that are all set up and ready for you. Get some Christmas shopping, or something for yourself, and enjoy a lunch from our canteen. At your designated time, climb into the shuttle and enjoy the ride to Sunshine Greenhouse, where the staff will help you make the Christmas Wreath of your dreams. Perfect to hang on your door or in your house. Whichever you prefer. After that, get a ride back to the hotel. We may have another surprise for you. We just need some things to fall into place. Once you’re done you can head home with fond memories shared with the people you love. And if you’re staying a second night, why not take this time to change into your swimsuit and soak in our large hot tub to warm up. Or, head up to our games room and challenge your friends or family to some air hockey, foosball, or torpedo ball. Want something calmer? Ask to borrow a board game from our front desk. We have lots of boardgames, perfect for a fun games night.

What's not to love?

Honestly, this weekend is such a great and fun idea. I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to come. Make great memories, enjoy delicious food, get out of the house for a night or two, and support local businesses. Did I mention that our hotel is also a local business? Local businesses supporting local businesses. But we can’t do it without your help and support. The more support we get, the bigger we can make this weekend next year. We can’t wait to see you.
