“The beginning of many happy stays!”

Meet Harold and Debra. Both are in their sixties and are regulars at the hotel. Debra is a retired nurse, Harold is a cottage realtor. Their roots are in Manitoba, and they come to see family and friends. The couple live and work between Kenora, Ontario in the summer and Victoria, British Columbia in the winter. 

The couple started coming to the hotel 4 years ago. They were driving by and saw the sign for the hotel and decided to check it out. 

“We saw the sign and it was the beginning of many happy stays!” Debra stated when asked how they first heard about Roadhouse 52. The couple comes at least 3 times a year to the hotel and stay for at least a week, sometimes longer. Sometimes the couple comes together, other times Debra stays on her own, while her husband goes to work in Kenora and she goes to visit family and friends in the area. 

When asked what continues to bring them to the hotel, the couple had this to say, “The staff. We are always made to feel so welcome, right from the front desk at check in, to the breakfast staff in the mornings, and the cleaning staff.” Harold and Debra also are a big fan of the rooms,

“The rooms are extra big, which makes it wonderful for bringing in a disabled family member, or having friends visit.” 

Harold and Debra shared their overall experience at Roadhouse 52. They said that they always look forward to coming for their next stay. They have befriended many of the staff and the owners, and enjoy being reunited with them.

“They are a great bunch and always go the extra mile!” 

They enjoy the location of the hotel, with a BBQ restaurant & lounge right across the parking lot, a walking path through the park across the highway, and close to a church. They also appreciated that we are located across from a funeral home when they came out for a funeral.
